About Open Shelf Codex

§ 1. Purpose of the catalogue
Open Shelf Codex is an independent guide and index to serial web novels. It is not a publisher, a shop or a reading service; it is a catalogue. Entries are arranged by language and by genre, so that a reader may browse a shelf rather than search blindly.
§ 2. Contents of a record
Each record describes one book. A record ordinarily contains a summary of the story, a list of chapters, and the opening chapters available to read on the site itself. No more than the first three chapters of any book are presented here; the remainder of a serial continues elsewhere.
§ 3. Opening chapters and later chapters
The opening chapters are placed on the site so that a reader may judge whether a serial suits them. Later chapters continue in the publisher's official reading app. A link to that app is given on the book's page. Where a short reader code is shown, it may be copied and entered in the official app to locate the same title.
§ 4. What the catalogue does not contain
- No personal details of authors.
- No ratings and no reviews.
- No sale of books, subscriptions or other goods.
- No user accounts; nothing here requires registration or sign-in.
§ 5. Affiliation
Open Shelf Codex is not affiliated with, and is not endorsed by, the publishers of the serials listed. Titles are recorded here for purposes of reference and discovery only.
§ 6. Referral links
Some links to the official app are referral links. If a reader follows such a link and later uses the app, the site may receive a commission. This does not change the records themselves, and no title is listed in exchange for payment.
§ 7. Rights in texts and covers
Texts and cover images belong to their respective publishers. They appear in this catalogue only as part of the record for each book, and all rights remain with their holders.
§ 8. Enquiries
Corrections, questions about a record, and other enquiries may be sent to the address below. Messages are read in the order received.
