A Wedding Offer that Made my Ex Husband Crawled Back

“You told me before you’d cover all my father’s medical expenses if I married you,” I said into the phone, my voice flat but trembling underneath. “Is that deal still on the table?”

“So you finally see Treston’s trash for what he is,” he chuckled. “And you realize I’m the one who actually cares?”

“Yes,” I whispered. “I’ll divorce him. Come get me in a week.”

When I hung up, my whole body was shaking. Marrying my sworn college rival — the man who competed with me at every turn felt like a better choice than spending another day in a five-year lie of marriage with a man who broke me without blinking.

Months ago, I found out Treston was cheating on me with my best friend, Summer. I was seven months pregnant when the worst came. I’d felt the cramps, the dizziness. I called Treston, begging him to take me to the hospital.

But Summer answered in between breathless moans.

My baby died. When I woke up, Treston blamed me rather than asking me if I was okay.

“You can’t even protect your own baby. You’re useless. Honestly, it should’ve been you who died instead.”

That’s when I knew. There was nothing left for me here.

And this time, I’d rather run into the arms of my enemy than let them ruin me again. So I divorced him, packed my things, and left them all behind. But when I finally found the love that would never hurt me again, he came back, begging for a second chance I’d never give.
