Cheerleader Down

At cheerleading boot camp during her freshman week, Sophie Harper collapses from cramps and heatstroke. Her boyfriend Ethan, the assistant coach, refuses to help her, handing the only rest pass to his childhood friend Chloe instead. When Chloe claims Sophie bragged about faking a faint to skip the run, Ethan drags Sophie into a sweltering storage shed and locks her inside to do equipment inventory. He ignores the diagnosis report she showed him the night before: a severe coagulation disorder. As blood pours from her and dehydration sets in, Ethan seals the shed's only vent with tarps and drops the key down a sewer drain, certain she is only throwing a tantrum. Professor Patterson demands the door be opened, but Ethan refuses, and Sophie's consciousness fades behind the locked iron door.
