Kneel Once for His Love? Hard Pass

At her wedding, Lucille is about to kneel and greet Alexander York's parents when his longtime best friend Casey Clarke takes the stage, plays a video of herself in his lap, and demands Lucille pay her respects. The guests laugh. Alexander tells Lucille that Casey has been at his side for twenty years and that one time on her knees is a fair price for a lifetime of his love.

Lucille removes her veil and calls off the wedding. Alexander's mother Mildred Smith insists she swallow her humiliation and finish the ceremony; his father Ethan York worries only about what the guests will be told. Casey tramples the veil Lucille's late mother left her, and Alexander drags her into the bridal room, where he reminds her they are already legally married.

Lucille asks for a divorce. Casey warns that Alexander never yields to pressure, then reveals she was the one answering his messages the night Lucille's mother died. Alexander tells Lucille to wait for him at home. She folds her veil and leaves the hotel alone, while at the reception Casey takes her seat and cuts the cake beside him.
