Taming the obnoxious hockey captain

Hailey Nirvana, a trauma‑ridden campus investigative journalist, is known across Easton University as "Hurricane Hailey", famed for exposing the dark secrets lurking within sports circles.

One explosive exposé lands star hockey captain Ezra Donatello an indefinite suspension from the NHL. Overnight, the golden‑boy athlete becomes one of the campus' most divisive figures.

Plagued by assault allegations, enduring both physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his father, and weighed down by his teammates' expectations, Ezra tracks her down and makes a blunt offer: help him set the record straight and revise her story, and he will cover the cost of her scholarship - plus grant her access to Elias Denver, the artistic crush she has long admired.

Thus begins a fake contract built on mutual self‑interest.

Sharp bickering, charged pretence‑fueled banter, and a reckless, searing kiss at a costume party follow. Nightmares and old wounds slowly surface as they spend time together. Believing she holds all the cards in their game, Hailey gradually finds herself falling for the man she was supposed to despise.

Yet the truth remains tangled: behind the accusations lies a premeditated frame‑up by a rival. Hailey is haunted by the ghosts of her past trauma, while Ezra is trapped in the suffocating cage of his toxic family.

As the line between their transaction and real feelings blurs, hatred ignites into consuming passion. With their lies on the verge of unravelling, can these two broken, sharp‑edged souls tame one another and stand against the gathering storm?
