Too Late For Regrets

On her seventh wedding anniversary, a wife learns that her husband Quinton's lover has given their son Zachary a pet cat. Because her pregnancy makes her allergic to cat fur, she asks the boy to return it, but Zachary pushes her and says he wants the lover to be his mother instead. Quinton sides with the child and the lover, and the wife collapses, miscarrying. In the hospital, she receives a message from the lover revealing that Quinton married her only to have children without risk. She files for divorce and returns to her hometown, hoping never to see them again.

Six years later, Quinton and Zachary appear at her bakery, expecting her to resume her old life as Mrs. Locke. She refuses, and when they doubt her claim of a new family, she tells them her husband is the movie star Jacob Ferrin. Quinton insists she still cares for him and that he has left his lover, but she has no wish to return to the past that once broke her.
