After Surgery, My Wife Locked Me Out

Recovering from surgery on Christmas Eve, Marcus calls his wife Vanessa to ask her to come to the hospital. She refuses, saying her parents have traveled from Wisconsin for the holidays, and a man named Chad warns that a Christmas surgery brings bad luck to the family. Vanessa books him a hotel suite instead, and his black card is charged $28,888 at a luxury hotel. From his hospital bed, Marcus has the charge refunded and checks himself out.

At the hotel, he finds Vanessa, Mr. Jenkins and a burly stranger enjoying an expensive Christmas dinner on his money. Listening outside the door, Marcus learns Mr. Jenkins is really Vanessa's father, that Chad was the man he chose for her, and that they are waiting for Marcus to transfer his company stock before making their move.

Marcus walks in, fires Mr. Jenkins, and leaves without paying the bill, freezing Vanessa's card behind him.
