Kael swore I had driven his precious Cassia away.

And for that imagined sin, he struck where it hurt most—he took my little brother.

I’ll never forget the sight: my brother teetering on the brink of a cliff, blindfolded, his wrists tied cruelly behind him, the wind threatening to sweep him into nothingness.

I begged, my voice raw. “Please, Kael… don’t do this.”

His gaze was fire, his words venom. He shoved his phone toward me, showing twisted “proof.”

“You think I don’t see through you, Amara? You sent her away. You made her leave me!”

But it was all lies. I hadn’t driven Cassia out. She had staged her own disappearance, smirking as she whispered in my ear, “I’ll vanish and leave him thinking it’s your fault. Let’s see who he chooses then.”

And he chose her. Again. Always her.

The woman who toyed with us both. The woman he put above me, above our vows, above everything I had sacrificed.

That day, Kael pushed too far. He let go—let my brother fall—and still twisted the knife deeper by naming me the villain.

It was the final blow. The moment I realized my marriage was nothing but chains.

So I broke them.

I signed away his name, my identity, and the last pieces of myself that belonged to him.
