My Fiancé Has Face Blindness, Yet He Always Recognizes Another Woman

For five years Emily Carter wore red and silver bells so her fiancé, Lucien Blake, could find her in any crowd—yet he claimed face blindness and asked her name every time. When a warehouse fire traps her with a shattered leg, Lucien crushes her bells underfoot and carries her foster sister Sophia from the smoke instead, though Sophia wore no marker at all.

In the hospital, Lucien tells a doctor he does not know her and refuses to sign for her surgery; Daniel signs instead. A leaked security clip shows Lucien pausing over Emily before walking straight to Sophia, who wears an obsidian clasp from his mother. At the Blake estate, Lucien again asks who she is, and Sophia mocks her openly.

Emily ends the engagement, but Lucien holds the Carter family's port permits and ledgers over her head, suspends her clearances, and hands her operations to Sophia. Returning to the old Carter docks, Emily faces her people's questions with the ledger in hand.
