Synopsis
In Jorvale, Connor Foster, sole heir of the Foster family, must choose a bride from the eldest daughters of the four prominent families before his twentieth birthday. He selects Grace Sutton, to everyone's shock, for all of Jorvale knows he has long adored Abigail Chandler. Only Connor knows he once married Abigail in a previous life, and that she declared herself Louis Hayes' wife in truth while treating Connor as a mortal enemy until he died in a car accident.
Reborn, Connor resolves to marry another woman and leave Abigail's affairs behind. But Abigail, who seems to remember their past as well, goes berserk at his decision, threatening to call off the marriage unless he helps her bring Louis home on the wedding day. At an auction in Lothriel and a birthday dinner back in Jorvale, she flaunts Louis before Connor, giving away the ring meant for him.
This time, Connor meets her cruelty with cold indifference, no longer the man who once begged for her love.
