After Loving You for Ten Years

For ten years Tara has loved Ethan, and for three of those years she has been his wife. When his brother Eric dies, Ethan's parents beg him to impersonate Eric for Eric's pregnant widow, Selene, who has become mentally unstable and believes Ethan is her husband. Ethan swears it is only an act, but he moves into Selene's room and cares for her as a real husband would.

Selene publicly brands Tara a homewrecker, and the shock kills Tara's critically ill mother. Grieving, Tara overhears Ethan confess to a friend that he has truly fallen for Selene, that ten years with Tara now feel like duty and compensation, and that her mother's medical bills are his leverage to keep her silent. With nothing left to lose, Tara resolves to gather proof of his betrayal and file for divorce.

Back at the Lancaster house, Tara must swallow her hatred, endure Selene's whims and the family's coldness, and pretend all is well while she waits for her moment.
