I Sent Him Divorce Papers and Said Yes to His Brother

“Congratulations, Mrs. Rutherford. Your hearing has completely recovered.”

That’s what the doctor told me, and my heart almost burst with joy. After years of silence, I could finally hear again. I couldn’t wait to go home and tell Walter.

But when I opened the door, the first words I heard weren’t love. They were betrayal.

“I don’t care what anyone says, Colt. Beatrix was the one I love, and she still owns my heart.” Walter told Colt.

I froze. My own husband, talking about my sister, while I stood there listening to every cruel word.

I smiled bitterly... That night, something inside me broke. But in the silence that followed, something new was born.

I picked up the phone, called his half-brother, and agreed to become his wife. Then I sent Walter the divorce papers.
