Not Your Weak Wife Anymore

After the car accident that killed her twin sister Selene and stole her sight, Emma Laurent thought her life couldn’t break any further. But Carlisle Huxley: Selene’s lover, married Emma only because her face reminded him of the woman he truly wanted.

Years pass. They have children. But Carlisle falls for another woman. A brighter woman. A prettier woman. A woman the world worships.

Cosette Montello.

Soon the whispers begin...

Emma is boring. Emma is pathetic. Emma is blind.

Even her children start distancing themselves, throwing cold words like stones.

“You’re always causing trouble,” her daughter snaps. “Why can’t you just stay out of sight?”

Emma tries. God knows she tries.

But Cosette finds her first.

With a soft, poisonous laugh, Cosette leans close and whispers the truth Emma never imagined:

“Your sister’s death… wasn’t an accident. And your blindness? That was my doing too.”

Emma tries to tell the world. She screams, begs, pleads. But everyone calls her crazy. Not even her children believe her.

Carlisle’s voice is the final nail. “Get out, Emma. Don’t come back.” He throws her out of the mansion like trash.

Alone, soaked in rain, and with no one left to live for, Emma climbs the bridge railing.

Her voice shakes in the wind.

“I’m… so tired.”

She lets go and darkness swallows everything.

Then light.

A warm hand touches her forehead.

A man’s voice, deep and steady, whispers:

“Wife… you came back…”
