The Cost Of Your Stolen Sapphire

On the night of a charity gala, Nate Cross spends half a million dollars just to see his fiancée Maddy smile, unaware that her star intern is rerouting thirty million dollars of custom jewelry to his own apartment. When Nate confronts Tyler Beck, the young man drops to his knees in the office, sobbing about a family losing everything. Maddy steps out of her glass-walled office and takes Tyler's side, ordering Nate to kneel and beg for forgiveness—or the wedding is off.

Nate refuses. He walks out of Sinclair Media, leaving behind the sapphire ring and necklace he had saved for years to buy, the pieces Maddy once said would prove he was serious about their future. At home, he finds Tyler in the kitchen with his arms around Maddy, cooking dinner as though he belongs there. Nate tells her they are done and orders her out of his house.

Maddy slaps him and slams the door in his face, certain he will come back and apologize the way he always has. This time, Nate is done kneeling—and he intends to take back everything that belongs to him.
